How to Make a Vanilla Milkshake
Let’s walk through this vanilla shake recipe together, and be sure to watch the video. Begin by removing the ice cream from the freezer about 5 minutes before making the vanilla milkshake to soften slightly. Then, put the ingredients in the order listed in the container of a blender. I recommend a Vitamix…. It’s important to add the liquid first…. and make sure to break up the vanilla ice cream as you add it to the blender (for easier blending). Then, add the vanilla extract. Next, blend, staring on low speed and increasing to high, for 15-20 seconds for a thick milkshake. Do not over blend or it will be runny.
Serve
Pour the vanilla milkshake into two to four glasses, top with whipped cream and serve.
Store/Freeze
Store any leftover vanilla shake in the freezer for up to 1 week in a glass jar. Let it thaw enough to drink in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours before drinking.
