Ingredients and Variations
BREAD: Brioche is the perfect bread for Stuffed French Toast. It is thick and the perfect density to soak up the cinnamon-sugar-based custard. French baguettes will work as long as they are cut at least 1” thick before using. EGG MIXTURE: Keep everything together with a light and fluffy custard made from eggs, cream, and some brown sugar and cinnamon. You can also add in drop or two of vanilla extract or some orange, rum, or banana extract if you’d like. A little orange or lemon zest gives the French toast a citrusy flavor! FILLINGS: Nutella gives this recipe its uniquely tasty flavor, but French toast can be stuffed with all kinds of fun and fruity fillings! Try sweeetened cream cheese, Strawberry Sauce or even pumpkin cheesecake!

Tips for French Toast
Make the egg mixture in advance and keep it in a tightly covered container in the refrigerator for up 48 hours. Bread can be sliced and filled 48 hours ahead of time and refrigerated. No pastry piping bags? No problem! Scoop the Nutella (or another filling) into a plastic sandwich bag and snip off a small corner on one side. Place a baking sheet in the oven and heat to 175°F. Place cooked French toast on the pan to keep warm while making other batches.
