Posted Oct 22, 2017, Updated Jun 26, 2024 Usually around 2 pm after a day of homeschool, grocery shopping, playing and cooking I usually need a pick-me-up. It’s low-calorie, high-protein, and easy to make with 4 ingredients in 3 minutes. And of course it’s delicious, and the matcha provides a little dose of caffeine for an afternoon energy boost!

Collagen Matcha Latte Recipe: Substitutions
Milk: My favorite option for this recipe is a coconut/almond milk blend. It keeps the drink low-calorie but the coconut milk imparts a rich and delicious flavor. Almond milk, coconut milk, whole milk, and 2% milk are all great choices. Honey. Raw honey is my favorite way to sweeten this drink, maple syrup is great too. Or you can omit the sweetener if you don’t prefer sweet drinks. Collagen powder. I use this organic collagen in my smoothies, coffee, etc. for extra protein daily. This collagen matcha latte can be made with 1 or 2 scoops of collagen protein powder. I typically opt for 1 (which is about 2 Tablespoons). The powder is flavorless so the amount does not impact the taste. The only thing that changes is the frothiness. If you use 2 scoops your latte will be very frothy. Matcha powder. I suggest using high-quality, organic matcha powder for the best results.
How to Make a Matcha Latte
To make this recipe, pour the ingredients into a Vitamix, blend for two minutes and serve. You can also make it on the stovetop if you prefer. Just whisk the ingredients together in a saucepan and cook over medium heat and until warm, then serve.
