Lightly sweetened cherries are baked under a buttery cake-like crust that puffs up fluffy and golden brown in the oven.

Ingredients for Cherry Cobbler

Cherries: Use either fresh or frozen cherries in this recipe. Canned cherries work too, be sure to drain them. I use this style of cherry pitter since you can do several cherries at once (you can also remove pits without a cherry pitter). Cobbler Topping: This cherry cobbler is cake-like and easy to make with simple ingredients you likely have on hand. Flour, sugar, milk, and butter. You can add a little bit of vanilla extract or almond extract if you’d like.

How to Make Cherry Cobbler

Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Storing Leftovers

Cobblers taste just as good the next day! Keep cherry cobbler covered in the refrigerator in an airtight container for about 4 days. Enjoy it cold or heat portions in the microwave. Cobbler can be frozen as a whole or in individual containers once it’s fully cooled. Wrap portions in foil and then plastic wrap and freeze for up to 1 month.
