An Easy Air Fryer Appetizer

Served with a little toothpick, these Brussels are so easy to eat and serve. Guests will love them! A sprinkle of brown sugar (or maple syrup) gives these a sweet and salty flavor, we can’t eat just one! Serve them with Chipotle Aioli, Homemade Garlic Aioli, or Chipotle Ranch Dressing for dipping and watch them disappear! Prep up to 48 hours ahead of time and cook just before serving. No Air Fryer? No Problem! These little bites can be oven-baked or roasted as well!

Ingredients & Variations

BRUSSELS SPROUTS: Use fresh Brussels sprouts for this recipe if you can. If they are large, cut them in half. Smaller sprouts can be left whole. You can use frozen sprouts too but the texture is a bit softer. Frozen Brussel sprouts do not need to be thawed first but cooking time will need to be increased. BACON: Use regular cut bacon. If you have thick cut bacon I would suggest partially cooking it in the air fryer before wrapping (like we do with bacon wrapped scallops) so it crisps properly. VARIATIONS: For more of a glaze, substitute the brown sugar with maple syrup. The bacon can also be substituted for a thinly sliced pancetta. For a kick, try brushing with some sriracha, too!

Recipe Tips

If the Brussels are large, cut them in half. If using frozen Brussels, they do not need to be thawed but cooking time will increase. Cook them seam side down so the bacon does not unravel. Brussels can be prepared 48 hours in advance and cooked before serving. Don’t crowd the basket. The more airflow, the crispier the Brussels will be. Cook in batches if needed. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. They can also be frozen and will last in the freezer for 3 months. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 10 minutes or until heated through.
